Number of Russian citizens travelling to Azerbaijan triples 

The number of Russian citizens travelling to Azerbaijan increased to 56,000 in the first quarter of 2022 from 20,000 in the same period of 2021, Report informs, citing the Russian Border Service.

According to the Service, the number of Russians visiting Georgia in January-March 2022 nearly quintupled.

Uzbekistan and Tajikistan received 53,000 Russian citizens, respectively, while these figures were 15,000 and 8,000 in 2021).

Moreover, Islamic countries such as Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Lebanon also saw a significant increase in the number of Russian citizens. Bahrain received 3,000 citizens (3 in the same period of 2021), Egypt – 351,000 (16,000), Saudi Arabia – 5,000 (45), UAE – 263,000 (115,000) and Lebanon – 810 (110).
