Norwegian ambassador summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry

The Norwegian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Report informs, citing TASS.

He was presented with a note of protest regarding the unacceptable behaviour of the Norwegian Consul General at the hotel in Murmansk on July 6.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia said that after the incident in Murmansk, it is impossible for the Consul General of Norway Elisabeth Ellingsen to stay on the territory of Russia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Saturday expressed outrage over comments made by a Norwegian consul in Russia in an incident captured on video that showed the diplomat insulting Russians at a hotel.

In the video, posted on a Telegram channel reputed to be close to the Russian security services on Saturday, a woman introduced as Elisabeth Ellingsen, Norwegian consul in the Arctic city of Murmansk, appears exasperated as she waits for a clean room.

"I hate Russians ... Just give me a room ... I'm used to clean rooms, I'm from Scandinavia," she says in the edited version of the footage on the Mash channel.
