Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will discuss the process of normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations, Report informs via TRT News.
The discussions will take place within the first meeting of the Turkey-US Strategic Mechanism.
The list of issues to be discussed at the meeting also includes the process of normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations.
The White House supports the appointment of special envoys between Ankara and Yerevan and welcomes the talks on the normalization of relations between the two countries.
The officials will also exchange views on the processes taking place in the region.
The first meeting of the Turkiye-US Strategic Mechanism will be held in New York on May 18 under the chairmanship of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. The meeting participants are expected to discuss various areas of cooperation between the two countries, as well as regional and global issues.
