NATO is ready for potential conflict with Russia

NATO is prepared for potential conflict with Russia, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Rob Bauer, stated in an interview with Ukrainian media, Report informs.

He noted that the readiness of the Alliance for unforeseen actions by the opposing side is a primary focus, emphasizing the need to be combat-ready with current capabilities.

Bauer highlighted the fortification of NATO’s eastern frontiers and the vigilant observation of Russian activities, including those in space, asserting that responses will be made as needed. He observed that while Russia can produce a substantial arsenal, the quality of its weaponry has been diminishing since the war’s onset, and their strategic execution is hindered by the ongoing conflict.

The admiral clarified that NATO does not have troops in Ukraine and has no plans for such deployment. He advised that any NATO member considering involvement should engage in consultation.

According to Bauer, there are no NATO troops in Ukraine: "We have no such plan. If any NATO member are thinking about it induvidually, they should definitely consult."

Additionally, he remarked that NATO does not govern the decisions of individual countries regarding arms provision to Ukraine, as these are sovereign choices.
