Most of the employees of the Kazakh Embassy in Ukraine have been transferred to Warsaw, Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi said, Report informs referring to Kazakh media.
“Naturally, in the current situation in Ukraine, we cannot jeopardize the lives and safety of our diplomatic staff. Therefore, now there is a question of relocating employees. Most of the diplomats have now been relocated to Warsaw, from where the embassy conducts its activities,” the minister said.
He noted that the consul is in Kyiv and receives citizens of Kazakhstan who have remained in Ukraine. “They have a lot of questions there, they also apply for assistance in evacuation. Therefore, there is no reason to talk about a complete evacuation and some kind of temporary closure of the embassy,” Tleuberdi added.
There may currently be about 200 citizens of Kazakhstan on the territory of Ukraine, according to the estimates of the consulate. Tleuberdi said that due to the ongoing hostilities, many Kazakhstanis are leaving Ukraine on their own, so it is difficult to determine the exact number of the Kazakh citizens remaining in Ukraine. He noted that before the start of hostilities, 600-800 Kazakhstanis were registered with the embassy.
On October 10, Kazakhstan called on its citizens to leave Ukraine.
