Moldovan Foreign Ministry summons Russian ambassador over 'referendums'

Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov has been summoned to the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration over the recent 'referendums' on the accession of the so-called 'DPR' and 'LPR', as well as Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions into Russia, Report informs, citing foreign media.

Moldovan "Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu has issued an order to summon Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov and express this country’s position concerning the attempt at illegitimate annexation by Russia of some Ukrainian territories," the Moldovan ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

Moldova will not recognize the results of the plebiscite and "resolutely condemns the annexation of new regions to Russia," the statement says.
