Minister: Turkey won't allow warships to enter Black Sea

Ankara will not allow warships to enter the Black Sea, Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said, Report informs via A Haber TV.

Akar said that Turkiye will adhere to the Montreux Convention:

“Turkey is committed to the 1936 Montreux Convention. According to the document, warships of non-Black Sea countries cannot stay in the waters for more than three weeks. Turkey has the right to ban or restrict the passage through the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles, unless it is a party to an armed conflict.”
