Military drills with use of Bayraktar drones start in Kyrgyzstan

Military tactical exercises began on March 31 in Kyrgyzstan, during which Bayraktar TB2 attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will be used, Report informs citing TASS.

“Special tactical exercises “Kalkan - 2022” (Shield - 2002) are being held in the Issyk-Kul region on March 31. President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Sadyr Japarov is watching the progress of the exercises taking place on the basis of the Edelweiss training center of the Defense Ministry in Balykchy city,” the report says.

For the first time in the history of the republic, during the exercises, Bayraktar TB2 attack UAVs, which are in service with the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security, will be used.

“The main goal of the exercises is to work out the coherence of the actions of the law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic to destroy a mock enemy who has made a breakthrough on a section of the state border. Units of the State Committee for National Security, the ministries of defense, emergency situations and internal affairs take part in the exercises,” the press service noted.

Kyrgyzstan purchased several Bayraktar TB2 UAVs from Turkey in 2021, they were transferred to the Border Guard Service of the State Committee for National Security.
