MFA: Moscow always ready to lend shoulder to Yerevan

Moscow is always ready to lend a shoulder to Yerevan, based on needs, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, answering a question from NEWS.ru about Russia’s provision of personnel and equipment to help eliminate the consequences of floods at the request of the Armenian side, Report informs.

“We saw a positive reaction, we really did, and we repeat again that all the proposals that were made are relevant, and as allies we are always ready to lend a shoulder, based on the needs of Yerevan,” she said.

Zakharova reminded that the Russian-Armenian Center for Humanitarian Response immediately joined the work to eliminate the consequences: “Transferred the necessary equipment to the rescue service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia. The Russian Ministry of Defense expressed its readiness to assist with the assignment of forces and resources to the 102nd Russian military base. The issue of providing assistance is also being considered by a number of Russian companies operating in the Republic.”

According to her, Moscow will also provide all necessary assistance to restore normal life in the regions of the country that were affected by the flood in Armenia.
