Meeting of SCO heads of government starts today

The 21st meeting of the heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries will start on November 1 under the chairmanship of the Chinese side in the format of a videoconference, Report informs, citing the organization.

The meeting will be attended by SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, head of the executive committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Ruslan Mirzayev, as well as representatives of SCO observer states, international and regional organizations.

During the meeting, the heads of government will discuss the results of the September SCO summit in Samarkand, as well as further options for promoting cooperation in the fields of security and economy. In addition, the parties will exchange ideas on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the SCO countries.

The organization was founded in 2001. Currently, its members are Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, India and Pakistan. Over 10 countries have applied for participation in the work of the organization in one status or another.
