Media: Putin says Russia-Ukraine peace talks possible until year-end

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping believe that new peace negotiations will take place between the Russian Federation and Ukraine by the end of the year, according to the Spanish newspaper El Pais, Report informs referring to TASS.

The publication refers to letters that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban sent to European leaders after his trips to Russia and China.

He also noted that he spoke with the Chinese leader about possible scenarios for the development of the conflict after the US presidential elections.

He noted that the new head of the White House will be expected to produce “quick political results even before taking office.” “A ceasefire that precedes peace negotiations, as well as rapid and intensive peace negotiations, may be of interest to the new administration,” Orban said. However, Xi Jinping “made no comments about the possibility of such a scenario,” he added.
