Since the beginning of the war between Russia and Ukraine, at least 7,822 Russian servicemen have been killed, Report informs referring to open sources by the journalists of Mediazona and the BBC Russian Service together with a team of volunteers.
As of October 21, at least 41 killed are men mobilized in the last month (a "partial mobilization" in Russia was announced on September 21). Some of these losses are non-combat: people died in training centers, at training grounds and in military units before being sent to the front.
Losses among volunteer detachments showed the most significant increase since the beginning of the war, and the number of these losses is becoming comparable to the losses in the Airborne Forces and motorized rifle troops: volunteers - more than 800 people, airborne troops and motorized rifle troops - more than 1,200, Mediazona notes.
In addition, soldiers from national republics are killed more often than others - Dagestan and Buryatia are among the leaders.
The Russian Defense Ministry only reported losses in Ukraine three times, the last time was on September 21, when mobilization was announced in Russia. Then Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that 5,937 Russian soldiers died in the war.
