NATO countries are considering providing Ukraine with MiG-29 or F-16 fighters, said former US Navy Supreme Allied Commander at NATO, retired Admiral James Stavridis, Report informs, citing Bloomberg.
According to him, at the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the idea of NATO countries providing Ukraine with MiG-29 or F-16 fighters was abandoned:
"But now, this idea is being considered again to ensure the superiority of Ukraine in the airspace."
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the Alliance intends to allocate additional aid to Ukraine.
He noted that as a result of Russian missile strikes, Ukraine suffered serious damage.
