Forty fighters of the Ukrainian defense forces from Georgia have died during the full-scale war since February 24, 2022, Report informs via Novosti-Georgia.
Some of them came to Ukraine as volunteers at the beginning of the war, and others had already lived in Ukraine for a long time and had Ukrainian citizenship.
Among the latter was 29-year-old Mikheil Mazanashvili, originally from Gori. In recent years, he lived in Ukraine and had a family there.
Earlier, the agency reported that about 1,500 Georgian fighters were fighting on the side of Ukraine.
