Massive power outage in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

On Tuesday, power outages began in Kazakhstan's largest city, Almaty, and the Almaty Oblast, Report informs via zakon.kz.

"There are power outages in Almaty and the Almaty region. Kazakhstanis write in social networks that the southern regions of the country were also left without electricity," the news portal says.

According to the Almaty administration, the disconnection occurred through the Kazakh electric networks company "Kegok".

"The voltage in the network dropped, the systems of automatic frequency unloading at the substations of Alatau Zharyk Company JSC [the regional power transmission company] worked. Reconnection work has begun," city ​​officials said.

Most of Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek, is reported to be out of power, with power cut off in the second-largest city, Osh, and several other cities. Bishkek Airport has switched to its autonomous power supply. ATMs, cashless payment terminals in stores stopped working. Also, due to the lack of the internet, banks stopped conducting transactions.

The Energy Ministry of Uzbekistan also reported a power outage in several regions. In Tashkent, the work of the subway has been suspended due to power outages in many districts of the capital.
