Magnitude 4.2 quake hits border of Kyrgyzstan and China

An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 has been recorded in the area of the Kyrgyz-Chinese border, Report informs referring to the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan.

“The source of the earthquake was located in China, 26 km southeast of the village of Bedel, 40 km southeast of the village of Yshtyk, 136 km southeast of the city of Karakol (regional center of Kyrgyzstan),” the statement says.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic, there were no casualties or destruction as a result of the tremors, which were recorded at 10:34 local time.
