Kazakh media noted that over the first 8 months of 2023, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and France amounted to $2.7 billion, which is 21.1% higher than a year earlier.

Macron was met at Astana airport by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov.
During a brief conversation, Alikhan Smailov expressed confidence that this visit will give new impetus to the further development of the strategic partnership between Astana and Paris, the Kazakhstani Cabinet of Ministers said.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Macron will hold negotiations on strengthening trade, economic, investment and energy cooperation, and will also discuss issues on the international and regional agenda.
Macron's visit to Kazakhstan is his first since the presidential elections in France.
Earlier it was reported that Macron would also visit Uzbekistan. The trip is associated with France's desire to expand uranium supplies.
