Macron: Return to nuclear deal with Iran still possible

A return to the nuclear deal with Iran is still possible - provided that negotiations resume as soon as possible, French President Emmanuel Macron said in a telephone conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Report informs.

"As for the nuclear agreement of 2015, the President of France reaffirmed his conviction that a solution aimed at returning to its full implementation is still possible, but it must be done as soon as possible. A few months after the suspension of negotiations in Vienna, he expressed his disappointment at the lack of progress and insisted that President Raisi make a final choice in favor of concluding an agreement and returning to the fulfillment of his nuclear obligations," the press service of the Elysee Palace said.

Besides, Macron demanded from President Raisi the immediate release of four French citizens who, according to the French President, were detained in Iran "arbitrarily".
