Lukashenko criticizes lack of concrete actions from SCO and BRICS

Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS are not taking concrete steps to address global challenges, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during the II International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk.

Report informs via BelTA that Lukashenko said there is a growing global demand for a shift away from a unipolar world order. The emergence of regional organizations like SCO and global platforms like BRICS was a response to this demand, aiming to unite like-minded nations. However, he believes that too much hope is being placed on these organizations.

"We are pinning too many hopes on regional and global organizations, such as SCO and BRICS. It was evident, despite the successful BRICS summit in Kazan, that we are just 'swaying', as they say in common parlance, instead of taking concrete steps to develop this global organization - BRICS. People want alternatives," Lukashenko stated, emphasizing the need for real measures to be taken.
