Lithuania to give Ukraine 36 air defense systems to fight Iranian drones

The Lithuanian government will give Ukraine 36 anti-aircraft missile systems to help fight Iranian drones. At the same time, Vilnius has trained 15 SAM instructors who will prepare the Ukrainian military to use the systems, Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas said, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

“We have already completed the training of 15 instructors who will be ready to work on the territory of Ukraine and train the Ukrainian military. We are also transferring 36 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine, which can effectively counter drones,” the minister said.

In turn, the Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said Lithuania had prepared instructors who agreed to train the Ukrainian military on the territory of Ukraine.

“I would like to note the importance of the fact that the Lithuanian side is preparing not just air defense system operators, but instructors, who will then be able to teach our military. That is, they train coaches. And then this allows our Ukrainian instructors trained in Lithuania to continue to train our crews here,” he added.
