Lawyer: Saakashvili's health deteriorating

"Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has been on hunger strike for eight days and his physical condition is deteriorating," the local bureau of Report informs, citing Saakashvili's lawyer Beka Basilya.

According to him, family members will be able to meet with the former president on Monday.

The ex-president was detained on October 1 in Tbilisi. He has been on hunger strike at the Rustavi prison No 12 since he was detained. He vowed to continue his hunger strike. Saakashvili's father Nikoloz Saakashvili addressed his son today and called on him to stop the hunger strike.
