Large-scale reconstruction work will be implemented in the country, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a government meeting.
According to him, the project, which will cover 63 municipalities, will restore important cultural and historical heritage sites, office buildings, recreation areas, and tourism infrastructure:
"There are many places in Georgia that need to be made more attractive, first of all, for our citizens, as well as for visitors and tourists."
The PM noted that the program would create 15,000 new jobs.
Garibashvili said that GEL500 million would be allocated for the first phase of the regional renewal project: "Tenders will be announced this week, and large-scale work will begin in June."
