Kyrgyzstan urges Tajikistan to give up territorial claims

The head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchibek Tashiyev, called on the authorities of Tajikistan to give up territorial claims against Kyrgyzstan, Report informs via 24KG.

"Dozens of soldiers and civilians were killed. This was caused by the non-resolution of border issues and the attack of a neighboring country on our state. I am the chairman of the state border demarcation and delimitation commission.

Until now, we have tried to resolve the issue peacefully and we continue to do so. The head of state instructs us to resolve the issues through negotiations. But at the same time, it should be said that an act of aggression was committed against our state last year. We will not allow such aggression in the future," Tashiyev said, noting that September 16 was the anniversary of the tragedies that happened in Batken on September 15-16, 2022.
