Kyrgyz minister: Turkiye supplies Bayraktars to Tajikistan

Turkiye has supplied Bayraktar UAVs to Tajikistan, Report informs via Knews.kg.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubayev has confirmed the news.

At a meeting of the Kyrgyz parliament on April 27 to approve Jeenbek Kulubayev's candidacy for foreign minister, MP Mirlan Samykojo said that information about Turkiye's exports of Bayraktar to Tajikistan had been spread on social media and asked for clarification.

Kulubayev confirmed that Tajikistan had received UAVs from Turkiye: "Yes, this is true. Earlier, we asked Turkiye to be careful in this matter, as the conflict between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan has not been resolved. They said it was a military-technical cooperation trade."

He stressed that they would continue talks with Turkiye in this direction.

The number of military equipment exported from Turkiye to Tajikistan has not been announced. The agreement between the two countries was signed in Ankara.

According to a tweet posted by the Tajik Embassy in Ankara, Tajik Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo paid a visit to Turkiye at the invitation of Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar. He also met with Selcuk Bayraktar.

Jeenbek Kulubayev's candidacy for the post of foreign minister was approved today.
