Kyiv makes metro, public transport free of charge

Kyiv has made the metro free of charge, the metropolitan subway said on Twitter.

Report informs citing UNIAN that the metro has switched to a free operating mode for passengers.

At the same time, the subway reportedly works in its usual mode.

Kyiv authorities also introduced free travel on all public transport in the city.

"Currently, the automated fare payment system is disabled, so there is no need to validate a transport card in public transport," Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
