Khamenei's Advisor: Iran-Azerbaijan exercises demonstrate high mutual trust

The joint exercises between Iran and Azerbaijan showcase high mutual trust, said Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Report informs via Nour News.

Velayati stated that Iran opposes the opening of the Zangazur road, citing concerns that the West and NATO, led by the US, are facilitating transportation from east to west through Azerbaijan, the Caspian Sea, and Central Asia.

On November 24, near Aslan Duz County in Iran's Ardabil Province, special forces from the Azerbaijan Army Ground Forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces conducted a joint tactical exercise titled Araz - 2024.
