Kazakhstan, UAE ink agreements worth $900M

Kazakhstan and the UAE have signed several agreements in various sectors for a total of $900 million, Report informs via Kazinform.

The signing took place following the visit of Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov to the UAE.

The agreements provide for the implementation of a project to create innovative and IT solutions in the UAE, the construction of private schools in Kazakhstan, the export of meat to the UAE, etc.

The prime minister held a meeting with representatives of the UAE business circles. Investors were presented with a list of 40 investment projects totaling over $6.5 billion in such industries as the mining and smelting complex, agriculture, the oil and gas industry, construction, etc.

“We have great potential in the areas of energy, chemical industry, agriculture, mining and metallurgical complex. In this context, I would like to propose to take part in the implementation of new projects, specially prepared taking into account the current situation in the world,” Smailov said.

According to him, the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) is actively developing. As part of increasing its capacity by attracting private investment, it is planned to build a shipyard on the coast of the Caspian Sea.
