Kazakhstan's export of freight locomotive sections to Azerbaijan reaches 80 units

Kazakhstan has exported 80 sections of freight electric locomotives to Azerbaijan, manufactured at a facility in industrial zone #1 of Astana.

Report informs, citing the Akorda press service, that this facility was launched as part of the industrialization program by French company Alstom.

According to the information, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the facility on Monday, which produces locomotive bodies, transformers, low-voltage and high-voltage cabinets, among other components.

"The President was informed that the facility has manufactured and maintains 380 freight and 70 passenger electric locomotives and their components for 'Kazakhstan Railways.' Additionally, 80 sections of freight electric locomotives were exported to Azerbaijan," the Akorda statement says.

Currently, Alstom is investing in the construction of service centers in Astana, Almaty, Shu, and Arysi, which will create an additional 700 jobs.
