Kazakhstan detains Vice-Minister of Ecology

Vice-Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, Akhmetzhan Primkulov, has been detained, Report informs, citing Knews.kg.

The information was also confirmed by the Anti-Corruption Department of Kazakhstan.

Along with Primkulov, the head of waste collection operator Medet Kumargaliyev was also detained.

Primkulov and Kumargaliyev were detained while leaving the country. They are suspected of corruption and are being held in pre-trial detention.

The first founder of the waste collection operator was Aliya, the youngest daughter of the first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
