Kazakhstan declares state of emergency in 10 regions

The floods in Kazakhstan are the biggest floods of the last 80 years, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in his address to the nation, Report informs.

According to him, a state of emergency was declared in 10 regions of the country: "Due to floods, a local state of emergency was declared in 10 regions of the country (Abai, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, Ulitau, etc.).

According to the head of state, the government has been instructed to prepare an effective mechanism for compensation of damages and to explain it to all victims: "The compensation should be proportionate to the damage."
