Kazakhstan: 26 armed criminals killed in riots

More than 3,000 people were detained during riots in Kazakhstan, 26 armed criminals were killed, and 18 others were injured, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.

Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry had previously warned that rioters resisting demands to lay down their arms would be killed.

The capital's mayor's office, administrative buildings, and police buildings are under control.

The unrest in Kazakhstan was sparked by protests against the price rise in liquefied petroleum gas, used as fuel for cars. The Zhanaozen and Aktau cities in the Mangystau province have protested against the decision.
