Kazakh president orders state regulation of prices for socially significant foodstuffs

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has instructed to introduce state regulation of prices for socially significant foodstuffs, Report informs with reference to TASS.

The government will also consider the necessity of introducing a moratorium on raising utility tariffs for the population for a period of 180 days.

Tokayev also ordered the establishment of a public fund “For the People of Kazakhstan” to solve healthcare problems and children’s issues. In addition, he instructed to consider the issue of subsidizing rents for secondary housing for socially vulnerable segments of the population and to start developing a law “On bankruptcy of individuals.”

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also instructed to introduce temporary state regulation of prices for liquefied gas, gasoline and diesel for a period of 180 calendar days. In addition, he ordered an investigation into a price conspiracy in the sale of liquefied gas.
