Kazakh PM names task of new government

Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov at the first meeting of the new Cabinet said that the government’s task is to lead the country out of a major crisis, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

“Dear members of the government, we must justify the high confidence of the head of state at this difficult moment for the whole country. The new government must make every effort to fulfill the tasks set by the president aimed at improving the quality of life of the population, maintaining economic growth, resisting the pandemic, recovering the huge damage inflicted by terrorists and looters and leading the country out of a large-scale crisis,” he said opening the meeting.

Smailov noted that these are very complex and large-scale tasks that no government had yet to solve in the current conditions.

“People expect real results from our work,” he concluded.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on the resignation of the government of the republic on January 5, Smailov became acting prime minister, and on January 11 he was appointed to this position.
