Kazakh Foreign Ministry comments on "referendums" in Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine

Kazakhstan adheres to the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty and peaceful coexistence of states, Aybek Smadiyarov, the spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kazakhstan, said while commenting on the "referendums" on the annexation of Ukraine's Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson provinces to Russia, Report informs via Zakon.kz.

Aybek Smadiyarov noted that the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly declared the importance of observing the principle of international law based on the UN Charter. The UN Charter emphasizes that member states support preserving peace and territorial integrity.

On September 23-27, Russia is holding "referendums" to annex Ukraine's Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts.
