Istanbul reservoirs only have water for 50 days

The fullness of the water reservoirs supplying Istanbul, Türkiye's most populous city, dropped to 18% on Thursday, Report informs via Turkish media.

This volume will be enough for another 50 days if there is no precipitation.

The Istanbul Water Resources and Sewerage Authority (İSKİ) said on Thursday that the fill rate of reservoirs in Istanbul is 18.07% (156.9 million cubic meters out of 868 million). Since April, the reservoirs’ level has steadily declined from 48.5%.

The city of more than 16 million people consumes about 3.1 million cubic meters of water daily, the department says, urging citizens to save water.
