US citizens will remain in prison until the full transfer of $6 billion worth of Iran's funds that have been blocked in South Korea, Iran's Vice president for political affairs Mohammad Jamshidi said on the social network, Report informs.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the remarks in a statement on Thursday following the emergence of news across various media outlets that Iran and the US have reached a prisoner swap deal that also includes the release of Iranian funds.
The detained US citizens include Siamak Namazi, Emad Shargi and Morad Tahbaz, as well as two others, a man and a woman, who asked that their identity not be made public.
