Iranian special services detain 2 leaders of Islamic State, 12 terrorists

As a result of the operation carried out by the Ministry of Intelligence of Iran, 12 terrorists, including two leaders of the Islamic State and a group of radical Islamists, were detained, minister Esmail Khatib said, Report informs via TASS.

“During the operation, about 20 illegal migrants, including two leaders of the Islamic State and the Takfiri group, were detained,” Khatib said.

Khatib noted that at least 12 of these 20 people are spies trained to carry out terrorist acts in the country. The minister added that the two terrorist leaders had relations with countries that do not border with Iran. No information was provided on the identity of the detained persons.
