Iranian parliament speaker casts his vote in presidential election, first among candidates

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Majlis (Parliament), has become the first among four presidential candidates to cast his vote in the country's pivotal election, according to Report, which cites Tasnim.

Qalibaf arrived at a polling station located in the Shah Abdul Azim mosque in a Tehran suburb. The mosque gained additional significance as the final resting place of Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash alongside President Ebrahim Raisi.

Following Qalibaf's lead, Mostafa Pourmohammadi, who previously held the positions of Minister of Interior and Minister of Justice, became the second presidential candidate to cast his ballot.
