Microsoft: Iranian hackers attack 200 companies around the world

Baku. 7 March. REPORT.AZ/ Over the past two years, more than 200 companies around the world have been attacked by a group of hackers allegedly associated with the Iranian government.

Report informs citing the Deutsche Welle that the due study was conducted by Microsoft.

The victims of hackers were mostly oil and gas companies, machine-building enterprises, as well as international business concerns in countries such as Germany, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, India and the United States.

According to the corporation, the total damage from the hackers' actions reach hundreds of millions of dollars.

According to experts, the attacks are carried out by hacker group Holmium, which has relation to the Iranian government. In addition, according to the study, separate break-ins were carried out by another hacker group – APT33 under the instruction of Holmium.
