Iran to develop relations with neighbors regardless of US election outcome — president

Iran plans to expand partnership with neighboring and Islamic countries regardless of whom America elected as its new leader, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said, Report informs via TASS.

"It will never matter to us who wins the US election because our country relies on its internal strength and people," Pezeshkian said, according to a statement from his office.

According to the president, Tehran prioritizes relations with Muslim countries and neighboring states. Iran regards Russia as a neighbor.

The US held a presidential election on November 5. The vote tally has not yet officially ended, but according to US news media, Trump already garnered about 300 electoral votes, while at least 270 are required to win. He has already declared himself as the 47th US president. His Democratic rival Kamala Harris conceded the race and referred to him as president-elect.
