Iran says Mahsa Amini's death not caused by physical impact

The death of Mahsa Amini was not caused by physical impact, Iranian Forensic Medicine Organization said in a statement, Report informs, citing TASS.

"According to the results of the autopsy [it was determined] that death was not caused by blows to the head or other vital organs or parts of the body," it says.

According to forensic experts, at the age of eight, the girl underwent brain surgery.

Iranian authorities denied involvement in the death of a 22-year-old woman who allegedly died from her injuries while being detained by police in Tehran.

Earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that Amini's death needs to be investigated.

Some European Union (EU) countries have prepared proposals for sanctions against Iran in response to the crackdown on women's protests.
