Iran's trade representative office opens in Yerevan

The opening of an Iranian trade representative office in Armenia contributes to the development of relations between the two countries, minister of economy of Armenia, Gevork Papoyan, said at the opening of the trade office in Yerevan, Report informs referring to Armenian media.

He expressed hope that the Armenian side would also have a trade representative office in Tehran.

He said that the Armenian government is interested in involving Iranian companies in the spheres of production, infrastructure, and other industries.

Papoyan reminded that the trade turnover between the countries last year amounted to more than $700 million.

However, the countries aim to increase this figure in the coming years to $1 billion, and further to $3 billion.

"This center will play a very important role in achieving the goals we have set," he noted.
