Iran releases over 700 prisoners after national team's victory over Wales

Iranian authorities released 715 prisoners after the national team's victory at the World Cup in Qatar over the team of Wales. The decision was made by order of the head of the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, Report informs via TASS.

The head of the Iranian judiciary praised the victory of Iranian football players, noting their "zealous attitude to the cause at the World Cup, which gave the people of Islamic Iran joy and happiness, becoming a manifestation of national unity, the spirit of collectivism."

On November 25, the Iranian national team won against the Welsh team with a score of 2:0 after losing in the first round to the English with a score of 2:6. This is the third victory of the Iranians in the history of their participation in the World Cup. The Iranians have never reached the playoffs of the World Cup, but now they have a good chance for this.
