Iran, Iraq FMs discuss regional, global developments

Abbas Araghchi, Iran's foreign minister, held a phone call with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, Report informs, citing Araghchi's Telegram channel.

The two sides exchanged views on recent regional and international developments, he said.

The United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran on Feb. 28, carrying out air strikes.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the strikes the same day, prompting Tehran to retaliate with missile attacks on Israeli territory and strikes on Gulf countries hosting US military assests.

Iran, the United States and their allies agreed on a two-week ceasefire on April 8.

Talks between Iran and the United States, mediated by Pakistan, were held in Islamabad on April 11–12 but ended without result.
