Iran imposes sanctions on nine Americans for supporting terrorism

The Iranian authorities have placed nine US citizens on their sanctions list for supporting terrorism and human rights violations, Report informs citing TASS the Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

"These individuals... are involved in the imposition of unilateral illegal US sanctions against the people and government of Iran, in financing and supporting terrorist groups and terrorist attacks, and also contributed to the repressive actions of Israel in the region, especially against the oppressed Palestinian nation," - the document says.

The Foreign Ministry also stressed that "these actions are a violation of the fundamental principles of international law and fundamental human rights and serve as a vivid example of a crime against humanity."

On March 30, the US Treasury slapped sanctions on another individual and four entities in Iran. Restrictions were introduced on the basis of US laws on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
