Iran becomes observer in Eurasian Economic Union

Iran has been granted observer state status in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Report informs via TASS.

The decision was made at the union's summit organized in Russia.

"Iran is now an observer state in our union," Bakhytjan Sagintayevv, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, told journalists.

Cuba and Uzbekistan also have observer state status in the EAEU. The Eurasian "five" includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
