Iran admits possibility of holding talks on JCPOA on sidelines of UN General Assembly

Iran admits the possibility of holding negotiations on the problem of restoring the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program on the sidelines of the forthcoming session of the UN General Assembly in New York in September, said official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani Chafi, Report informs referring to TASS.

"The upcoming session of the UN General Assembly is a good opportunity for diplomatic talks [on the JCPOA]," he said.

Chafi reminded that in 2022, on the margins of the GA, the Iranian side held indirect talks with US representatives, as well as direct consultations with JCPOA partners.
