Irakli Kobakhidze: 'We expect relations with the EU to be renewed'

The ruling party in Georgia expects relations with the EU to be renewed from early 2025, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said, Report informs.

According to Kobakhidze, it is important to develop the country in all areas to achieve the goal of European integration by 2030, and everything will be done to achieve this goal.

In this context, the Prime Minister emphasized economic growth, stating that "if economic indicators are not appropriate, no one will accept the country into the European Union."

"We expect relations to be renewed and think this will happen from the beginning of next year. The Association Agreement and Free Trade Agreement impose certain obligations on us. Our ambitious goal is to fulfill more than 90% of these obligations by 2028. Ultimately, this will guarantee that by 2030, Georgia will reach our final goal - full integration of our country into the European Union.

For this, it is important to develop the country in all areas, especially in terms of economic growth. If economic indicators are not suitable, no one will accept the country into the European Union," Kobakhidze said.
