Influenza incidence increases over the week in Georgia

"Influenza incidence in Georgia grew in the second week of January," Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Amiran Gamkrelidze said.

Report's local bureau quotes him as saying 219 out of 100,000 people across the country have been infected with flu.

Gamkrelidze noted that hospitals post an increasing number of patients diagnosed with seasonal flu. Nearly 97,000 people have been vaccinated.

The flu infection figure was 191 out of 100,000 people last week.
