Turkish special forces, gendarmerie kill 9 PKK terrorists

As part of the anti-terrorist operation Eren Kış-6 in eastern Turkey's Tunceli province, 9 RKK terrorists were neutralized, 140 militant shelters were destroyed, the entrances to 19 caves were destroyed, and a large number of weapons and ammunition were seized.

Report informs citing local media that according to the Turkish Interior Ministry, up to 1,060 special forces soldiers are involved in operations against PKK terrorist organization militants in Tunceli province's Mercan region.

Some 72 groups of Interior Ministry officers are involved in combing areas where terrorists are likely to gather.

Five of the killed militants were on the lists of especially dangerous terrorists of the Turkish Interior Ministry.

The ongoing anti-terrorist operation involves attack UAVs, military helicopters, and jets.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that from 1984, when PKK militants first committed a bloody crime in Turkey until March 2020, 7,500 Turkish security personnel and 6,800 civilians were killed at the hands of the bloody organization.
